Panaji: April 23, 2026
The Oil Marketing Companies (OMCS) reassured the general public that the availability of Petrol (Motor Spirit), Diesel (High Speed Diesel), and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in the State of Goa is stable and adequate to meet the current demand.
This was announced by IAS, Shri. Sanjeev Gadkar, Secretary, Civil Supply in a press conference organized at State Secretariat Building, Porvorim along with Shri. Madhurendra Pandey, SLC Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. today.
OMCs are closely monitoring the overall supply situation and have taken necessary steps to streamline logistics and expedite deliveries, thereby ensuring uninterrupted availability of fuels across the State. In addition, OMCs are working in close coordination with the State Government and District Administration to proactively monitor developments and ensure a stable supply for the benefit of the general public.
PSU Oil Companies have prioritised domestic LPG supplies and LPG cylinder delivery continues as normal. At present, OMCs are delivering around 10,600 domestic LPG cylinders daily on an industry basis in the State of Goa, which is consistent with normal delivery levels prior to the onset of recent geo-political tension and in line with current requirements.
LPG customers are encouraged to book cylinders through digital platforms such as SMS, Missed Call, IVRS and OMC’s dedicated application and to authenticate deliveries using DAC to ensure transparency, efficiency, and delivery to the intended beneficiaries.
Shri Gadkar further mentioned that the Central & State Governments are actively promoting Piped Natural Gas (PNG) connections for domestic consumers to provide a reliable and continuous cooking fuel alternative. In Goa, PNG services are already available in areas such as Panjim, Madgaon, and Ponda. Consumers may avail these services by registering on the online portals of Goa Natural Gas Pvt. Ltd. (North Goa) and Indian Oil Adani Gas Pvt. Ltd. (South Goa).
For the convenience of migrant labourers and students who may not possess local address proof, OMCs are also making available 5 kg Free Trade LPG cylinders, which can be obtained from nearby LPG distributors upon submission of a valid Government issued photo identity and a declaration.
OMCs are also conducting regular inspections at LPG distributorships to ensure compliance with prescribed norms and uninterrupted supplies. Concurrently, the State Government and District Administration are actively carrying out market inspections and enforcement drives to curb hoarding, black marketing, and any malpractices related to LPG and petroleum products, thereby safeguarding consumer interests.
In the State of Goa, district authorities have cumulatively conducted 436 enforcement raids till date and have taken necessary action in all cases where irregularities were found.
Oil Marketing Companies are ensuring uninterrupted supplies of Petrol and Diesel across the State of Goa. Demand levels, both prior to the recent geopolitical developments and at present, remain well aligned with supply and distribution capacities. While a brief and temporary increase in demand was observed, the same was effectively addressed through proactive logistics planning and timely replenishments. The overall fuel supply situation in the State continues to remain stable.
The public is advised not to pay attention to rumours of any shortage or engage in panic buying. All three OMCs are committed to ensuring seamless supply of fuel in the state.
Others present for press conference were Shri Abhir Hede, Director, Information and Publicity, Shri Jayant Tari, Director Civil Supplies and Shri Nana Meshram, Director PIB.
