JOB FAIR AT VERNA BRINGS 740 EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES ACROSS 25 COMPANIES

A significant step towards enhancing employment opportunities for youth was marked with the organisation of “Job Fair 2026 – Empowering Yuva Shakti” by the Goa Human Resource Development Corporation (GHRDC) at Verna Industrial Estate.
The job fair brought together 25 companies offering around 740 vacancies across various sectors. The initiative provided a platform for direct interaction between job seekers and employers, strengthening access to employment opportunities in the private sector.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant said, “This is the first time such a large-scale private sector job fair is being organised in Goa.” He further stated, “Our Government is fully committed to providing employment opportunities for our youth.” He also emphasised the importance of encouraging youth to explore opportunities in the private sector and entrepreneurship.
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant highlighted that initiatives of the Goa Human Resource Development Corporation have enabled employment for over 5,000 youth, reflecting strong participation and trust. He also noted the role of structured programmes such as the Chief Minister Rozgar Yojana and skill development initiatives in strengthening employment pathways and promoting entrepreneurship among youth.
The initiative reflects the Government’s continued focus on strengthening employment opportunities and promoting industry engagement in the State. Such platforms play a vital role in bridging the gap between job seekers and employers while supporting skill development and career growth among youth.
The programme was attended by Shri Mauvin Godinho, Minister for Industry; Dr. V. Candavelou, Chief Secretary; Shri Aleixo Lourenco, Chairman, Goa Industrial Development Corporation; Shri Rodolfo Fernandes, Chairman, Goa Human Resource Development Corporation; Shri Deepak Naik, Vice Chairman, GHRDC; Shri Antonio Vas, MLA, Cortalim; Shri Gurudas Desai, Managing Director; along with other dignitaries.
