‘TAARE ZAMEEN PAR’ STEM OUTREACH PROGRAMME TO BE LAUNCHED BY GOA GOVERNMENT AT CUMBARJUA

A special programme will be held on April 15 at PM Shri High School, Cumbarjua, marking the launch of the “Taare Zameen Par” Mobile Digital Planetarium and STEM Education Outreach Programme in Goa.

The initiative, led by the Goa State Council of Educational Research and Training (GSCERT), aims to promote scientific temper, curiosity, and innovation among students through experiential and inquiry-based learning. The programme will introduce a mobile digital planetarium equipped with immersive astronomy shows and portable STEM experiment kits, providing students with hands-on exposure to science and space learning.

Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the programme will be implemented across government and aided schools in Goa, focusing on students from Classes V to X. It seeks to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical understanding, while ensuring equitable access to advanced educational tools, especially for students in rural areas.

As part of the programme, an agreement between GSCERT and Varnaaz Technologies Pvt. Ltd. will be signed, along with the flagging off of the Taare Zameen Par bus. A Memorandum of Understanding between GSCERT and Antarang Foundation will also be exchanged to strengthen career education initiatives for students.

The programme will be attended by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant; Shri Rajesh Faldesai, MLA; Shri Prasad Lolayekar, Secretary, Education; Shri Shailesh Sinai Zingade, Director of Education; and Smt. Meghana Shetgaonkar, Director, GSCERT, along with teachers and students of PM Shri High School, Cumbarjua.
