‘SARKAR TUMCHYA DAARI’ STRENGTHENS LAST-MILE ACCESS TO GOVERNMENT SERVICES UNDER SEVA SANKALP ABHIYAN
Shiroda camp connects citizens with welfare schemes, application assistance and government services

Taking governance closer to the people, the Government organised a special ‘Sarkar Tumchya Daari’ camp at Shiroda Gram Panchayat under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, bringing information, application assistance and access to government welfare schemes directly to citizens. The camp provided guidance on initiatives including ‘Mhaje Ghar’, Ujjwala Yojana, agricultural schemes and other welfare programmes, strengthening last-mile access to public services.
Adding a strong community focus to the programme, the camp also witnessed the virtual foundation stone ceremony of the Ganesh Mandal Hall and the felicitation of yoga teacher Shri Jayant Prabhudesai for his contribution to community health. Certificates under the ‘Mhaje Ghar’ scheme were also distributed to eligible beneficiaries, providing formal documentation and strengthening their access to ownership rights.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant said that the ‘Mhaje Ghar’ initiative is aimed at providing eligible families with greater security of ownership by bringing longstanding houses into the official land-record system through the prescribed process. He highlighted that houses constructed before February 28, 2014, subject to the applicable scheme and legal requirements, can be regularised through the prescribed procedure, helping families secure official documentation for their homes.
Strengthening last-mile delivery of governance, Dr. Sawant said that the objective of ‘Sarkar Tumchya Daari’ is to take government services to citizens so that people do not have to repeatedly visit government offices to access schemes and assistance. He also highlighted the response to the Ujjwala Yojana, noting that more than 2 lakh applications have been received in Goa, while referring to initiatives such as PM Divyang Kendra that further extend public services and support to citizens.
Advancing community-focused development, the programme reflected the broader objective of bringing government schemes, citizen services and welfare support closer to people at the grassroots. The initiative also encouraged greater awareness and participation in public programmes, strengthening the connection between citizens and government services.
