MULTI-STATE MOCK EXERCISE ON CYCLONE & INDUCED DISASTERS TO BE CONDUCTED IN GOA ON OCTOBER 1, 2026

The South Goa District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Margao and The Kushavati District, Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) in coordination with the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA), Goa, and in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), will conduct a Multi-State Mock Exercise on Cyclone & Induced Disasters in Goa and adjoining coastal districts of Karnataka and Maharashtra on October 1, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

As part of the exercise, sites such as Mormugao Port Authority, Mormugao Taluka; Ponda Education Society’s Rajaram and Tarabai Bandekar College of Pharmacy, Farmagudi, Ponda Taluka; and Marksans Pharma Ltd., Verna Industrial Estate, Salcete Taluka have been designated in South Goa District, whereas in Kushavati District; Road leading to Government Higher Secondary School, Khairekhatem, Sanguem Taluka; Davkond Bridge, Dudhsagar, Dharbandora Taluka; Petrol Pump, Quepem Taluka; and Palolem Beach, Canacona Taluka are the sites designated as the part of the exercise.

The mock exercise will include activation of the Early Warning System and evacuation procedures to assess and strengthen the efficiency of communication, coordination, warning dissemination and emergency response mechanisms. The public is advised to remain calm and not to panic during the exercise. Any warning messages, alerts, evacuation announcements or other emergency response activities observed during the designated period are part of the planned mock exercise.
