DM SOUTH GOA ISSUES PROHIBITORY ORDER FOR BYE ELECTION

The Goa State Election Commission has announced the Bye Election to Ward No.I of Village Panchayat Chinchinim Deussua, Salcete Taluka in South Goa District scheduled to be held on August 16, 2026 and counting of polled votes fixed on August 17, 2026. The Model Code of Conduct has come into force with immediate effect in the jurisdiction of Ward No. I of Village Panchayat Chinchinim Deussua, Salcete Taluka in South Goa District. The Goa State Election Commission has issued directions to ensure free, fair and peaceful Election.

In view of above District Magistrate, South has issued prohibitory orders that all Restaurants, Bars, Tea shops, Paan shops, Eateries and other Food shops/joints (Dhabas, Gaddas) etc., situated in Ward No. I of Village Panchayat Chinchinim Deussua in South Goa District jurisdiction within 200 meters of the following, shall remain closed.

The polling station of Ward No.1 of Village Panchayat Chinchinim Deussua, Salcete Taluka in South Goa District will remain open from 06.00 a.m to 9.00 a.m on the day of poll i.e. on August 16, 2026 and the counting centre w.e.f. 06.00 a.m to till end of counting of votes on August 17, 2026.

Ban on any gathering or crowd comprising comprising of more than 5 persons within 200 meters of polling stations within the area of Ward No.1 of Village Panchayat Chinchinim Deussua, Salcete Taluka in South Goa District

The above restrictions shall not apply to public servants on duty and to bonafide marriage or funeral processions or religious processions/functions.
