Goan Folk Performances Showcase State’s Cultural Heritage at Bharat Parv 2026

As part of Bharat Parv 2026, the third day of the festival featured a vibrant presentation of Goa’s traditional folk heritage on the main stage, drawing enthusiastic participation and appreciation from visitors.

Traditional folk artists from Curti, Kelbai (Goa), under the leadership of Shri Dinesh Priolkar, presented a rich repertoire of Goan folk art forms, including Kalashi Fugdi, Jagar, Dekhni, and the traditional warrior dance Ghode Modni. The performances reflected the cultural diversity, ritualistic traditions, and martial heritage of the State.

The programme was choreographed by Ms. Avani Khedekar, ensuring authentic representation of traditional forms while adapting them for a national platform. Music for the performance was composed and directed by Dr. Saish Deshpande, adding depth and rhythm to the overall presentation.

The artists who performed included Shri Dinesh Priolkar, Shri Vipul Gaude, Shri Dhiraj Gaude, Shri Prashant Gaude, Smt. Manjita Naik, Smt. Nikita Gaonkar, Smt. Urpita Sawant, and Smt. Kiran Gaonkar.

The performance received an overwhelming response from spectators, who applauded the vibrant costumes, rhythmic expressions, and cultural depth of the presentation. The event effectively highlighted Goa’s rich folk traditions and contributed to the broader objective of Bharat Parv 2026—to celebrate and promote India’s diverse cultural heritage.
