CEO CLARIFIES ON THE USE OF THE TERM OCI

During the press conference held on Sunday November 30, 2025 at Altinho Panaji by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer Goa, the CEO while addressing the media regarding the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Goa, inadvertently used the term “OCI” instead of “Overseas” while referring to overseas voters.

It is clarified that there are 88 overseas electors in Goa who are Indian citizens residing overseas and that the Commission has provided facility of online EF submissions for them.

CEO has clarified that the word OCI was used instead of overseas and thus the same may be duly published to clear doubt and anxiety created due to the use of the term OCI in place of Overseas electors.
