ART & CULTURE DEPT. TO HOLD COMPETITION MATOLI, DEKHAVA COMPETITION

The Directorate of Art and Culture organizes Matoli and Dekhava competitions to promote the age-old tradition of preserving biodiversity through traditional decoration. The State level Matoli decoration competition will be held for individual households from August 29 to September 01st, 2025. The State Level Dekhava presentation competition will be held for Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandals from September 02ndto 06th, 2025.

The prizes will be awarded along with the certificates for both the competitions. However, in absence of significant number of participants, the department reserves the right to hold or to cancel the competition.

Interested household individuals and registered Sarvajanik Ganesh Utsav Mandals are requested to fill the application forms for participating in the competition from the office of the Directorate of Art and Culture, Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto, Panaji Goa (Contact no. 0832-2404640/636/638). Applications forms will be available at various sub offices of the department namely Ravindra Bhavan, Margoa, Curchorem, Sankhali, Vasco, Canacona and Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir, Ponda Goa. The form can also be available on the website of the Directorate of Art and Culture-www.artandculture.goa.gov.in. Late entries will not entertain.

The application form will be available from August 04th, 2025 and must be submitted and duly filled by August 18th, 2025. The application can be submitted to any of the above mentioned offices. The rules and regulations of the competition are mentioned in the application form.
