CM Interacts With CG Entities

Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant had the Second series of interaction with Central Government (CG) Heads of the Departments (HOD) at the Ministerial Block Secretariat Porvorim today.

The HOD’s present were Commodore T.V.N Prasanna, Commanding Officer INS Mandovi; Colonel. M.K.S Rathore, Commanding Officer Goa Boys Battalion NCC; Colonel Sukhaman Singh, Goa Girls Battalion NCC; Captain Dean Mendonca Commanding Officer Goa Naval Unit NCC and Prof. Sutheeshna Babu, Nodal Officer National Institute of Water Sports Dona Paula Panaji.

The Chief Minister appreciated the diving assistance provided by INS Mandovi to the State on various occasions especially floods relief operations. The number of activities by the NCC Units was observed to be greatly beneficial for the youths of Goa as it would improve their confidence, exposure to adventure activities, Social responsibility so as to make them better citizens.

The Chief Minister directed the NCC Officers to coordinate with the Director, Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Directorate of Higher Education, Directorate of Education for improving upon the training infrastructure and enhancing the number of volunteers from Goa into NCC.

The HOD’s indicating their strengths and areas of work pointed out their contribution to the State of Goa in different areas.

The Nodal Officer NTWS indicated that a number of skill development and vocational courses were carried out at the institute. He informed about the five days life saving courses, Boat Operator Course for three months, State Level guide course and up to two years MBA in Travel and Tourism as well as a PHD course as per UGC Guidelines.

Shri Mekala Chaitanya Prasad, IAS, Director, Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Shri. Prasad Lolayekar Director, Directorate of Higher Education, Shri Santosh S. Amonkar, Director Directorate of Education were also present on the occasion, as informed by the Department of Information and Publicity.
