VICE PRESIDENT ARRIVES IN GOA

Governor of Goa, Shri P.S. Sreeedharan Pillai and Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant welcomed Vice-President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar and his wife, Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar on their visit to Goa at INS Hansa Dabolim.

Shri Dhankhar is on a three day visit to the State of Goa.

During his tour, the Vice-President will visit Mormugao Port, where he will dedicate new projects of the Port to the nation and interact with senior officers and staff of the Mormugao Port Authority. Shri Dhankhar will also interact with senior officers of the Indian Coast Guard on board a Coast Guard vessel at the Mormugao Port.

The Vice-President will visit ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute (CCARI), where he will interact with faculty members and scientists.

The Vice-President is also scheduled to visit Raj Bhavan, Goa, where he will commission statues of Charaka and Sushruta at the Raj Bhavan campus, commemorating their distinguished contributions to Ayurveda and Surgery, respectively

Union Minister of Power & New & Renewable Energy Shri Shripad Naik, Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly Shri Ramesh Tawadkar, Protocol Minister, Shri. Mauvin Godinho, Leader of Opposition Shri Yuri Alemao, MP Rajya Sabha Shri Sadanand Shet Tanawade, MP Lok Sabha South, Capt. Viriato Fernandes, Chief Secretary Shri Dr. V. Candavelou, IAS, Secretary Protocol Shri Prasad Lolyenkar, IAS, Collector & District Magistrate South Goa, Ms. Egna Cleetus, IAS, and concerned officers were present to receive the Vice President.
