DIP TO CELEBRATE NATIONAL PRESS DAY ON NOV 16

The Department of Information and Publicity (DIP) will celebrate the annual National Press Day on November 16, 2024 at Institute Menezes Braganza hall, Panaji from 9.30 am onwards. The Minister for Transport, Industries, Trade and Commerce, Protocol and Panchayati Raj. Shri Mauvin Godinho will be the Chief Guest for the celebration.

Shri Glenn Costa will moderate an interactive session on ‘Maintaining of Ethics and Accountability in Reporting’. The panel will comprise noted media persons- Shri Alister Miranda, Shri Prasad Mhambrey, Shri Newton Sequeira and Dr Olav Albuquerque.

This year the Lifetime Achievement Award will be conferred on veteran journalist Shri R.V Prabhugaonker. On the occasion, senior journalists Shri Alexandre Moniz Barbosa, Shri Ramnath Pai Raikar, Shri Sushant Kunkolienkar, Shri Pradeep Patil and Shri Yashwant Patil will also be felicitated for their contribution in journalism.

On the occasion, Journalist Awards and prizes of the Photo contest organized by the Department of Information and Publicity will be presented.
