EMPLOYMENT SUBSIDY SCHEME FOR CASHEW INDUSTRY AMENDED

The Directorate of Industries, Trade and Commerce (DITC) has amended the existing ‘Employment Subsidy Scheme for Cashew Industry’ 2022 in order to support the growth and sustainability of the cashew industry. The scheme envisages promoting the industry by reimbursing 50% of annual wages paid by the cashew processing units to their Goan regular employees.

Instead of the existing provision of minimum 6 months of regular employment, now all cashew processing units which employ Goan employees for minimum 120 days in a year shall be eligible for the scheme. Additionally, the employees who are present on the roll for minimum 12 days in a month for at least 8 months shall be considered eligible for the subsidy.

The Directorate of Industries, Trade and Commerce has appealed to all the cashew processing units in Goa to avail benefits under the scheme.

The claims for a calendar year i.e. January to December of a year should be filed before March 31st of the subsequent year.
