GOVERNMENT INVITES APPLICATION / NOMINATION FOR CO-OPERATIVE EXCELLENCE AND MERIT

The National Cooperative Development Cooperation presents awards for Co-operative Excellence and Merit every year to Primary Cooperative Societies in order to recognize the contributions and services rendered by the Co-operative Societies in the Co-operative sector. Under the Scheme, Awards shall be given to Eight Primary Cooperative Societies from each States/ UTs in a year. The National Cooperative Development Cooperation has decided to continue with the Regional Awards for Cooperative Excellence and Merit-2023 in the following three categories:

In the category of the Best Primary Credit Coops (PACS), the eligible co-operatives is all Agri Credit Coop (PACS, Agri Banks, etc.) and the first prize- excellence is Rs. 25,000/- and second prize-merit is Rs. 20,000/-

Similarly, the Best Primary Cooperatives in Two Prominent Sector of the State category the eligible co-operatives is all primary Cooperatives of respective Sector and the first prize-excellence (two selected sectors) is Rs. 25,000/- and second prize-merit (two selected sectors) is Rs. 25,000/-

In the Best Women Cooperatives category the eligible co-operatives is all primary Women Cooperatives and the first prize-excellence is Rs. 25,000/- and second prize-merit is Rs. 20,000/-

Selection of the Cooperative Societies will be made by a Committee consisting of Members constituted at the State Level under the Chairmanship Secretary (Cooperation) or Registrar of Cooperative Societies and the Regional Director of NCDC shall be the member convener. Accordingly the Government of Goa has constituted the State Level Selection committee under the Chairmanship of Secretary of Cooperation which is entrusted with the responsibility of selecting and recommending the Cooperative Societies of outstanding merit in the field of Co-operation for the year 2022-2023.

The Government has hereby invited applications/nominations from the Cooperative Societies along with a brief note about the society and its achievements highlighting the statutory compliances and guidelines issued by the Government along with Audited Balance sheet, Profit and Loss/ Trading Account and annual report duly certified by the Chief Executive of the Society

The application/nomination forms so prescribed for the purpose are available in the Office of the Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Sahakar Sankul, Patto Plaza, Panaji, and all 6 Zonal Offices of the Asstt. Registrar of Co-operative Societies at Panaji, Mapusa, Ponda, Margao, Quepem and Bicholim.

All the Co-operative Societies desiring to apply for the Awards may collect the prescribed Forms from any of these Offices and submit the duly filled in forms with enclosures in support to the respective Zonal Offices on or before March 5, 2024 by 5.00 pm.
