GOVT IS SERIOUS ABOUT ITS CITIZENS SAFETY: CM

Government is serious about the safety of its citizens. Accidents, leading to deaths, are taking place due to rash and rough driving. We have to overcome this situation with disciplined driving and by following traffic rules uged the Chief Minister while speaking at a function organized to commemorate the 43rd anniversary of Kadamba Transport Corporation Ltd. Patto Panaji today.
Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited a Government of Goa undertaking celebrated its 43rd Anniversary with much pomp and fervour to mark the celebration a function was organized by KTC at Patto Panaji.
The Chief Minister speaking further said the Government is seized of the issue of arrears of Seventh Pay and assured to resolve it soon. KTC is like a family and needs to work to ensure it turns the wheels into profit. He urged the stakeholders to apply their ideas and to work together. He also acknowledged the association and dedication of those employees felicitated on the occasion.
Minister for Transport Shri Mauvin Godinho while addressing said that the transport system in the State has seen a lot of improvement. Being a public transport service provider, KTC is running on a no profit no loss basis and is dedicated and committed to serve the society.
Chairman KTC in his address said that KTC has a successful history of four decades. During the course of the time KTC has provided the cheapest bus service to the common men at the grass root level. The KTC bus service, started four decades ago, has worked to provide affordable transport service to the people living in remote areas. During these 43 years KTC has gone under various trials but succeeded to survive due to dedication and commitment of
our employees. He also sought the support of the Chief Minister to look into the aspects of additional buses to serve the people in a better way.
Kins of KTC employees who were excelled in their board exam of SSC and HSSC were felicitated at the hands of the Chief Minister. KTC employees from various categories like driver, conductor , mechanic, technical, TC and others were also felicitated at the hands of the Chief Minister.
The first Kadamba with No. GDX -1 which was launched in the year 1980 was stationed at the venue on the occasion.
Souvenir comprising information about the history of Kadamba Transport Corporation was released at the hands of the Chief Minister.
Vice -Chairman, KTCL Shri. Kritesh Naik, General Manager KTC Shri Sanjay Laxmikant Ghate, Assistant Legal Advisor Hitendra Satarkar, Director Dept. of Transport Shri Rajan Satardekar and Shri. Bayo Bhandari, Shri. Shamba Barkelo Gaonkar, Shri. Prabhakar Gaonkar, Shri. Samir Dayanand Mandrekar, Smt. Madhukala Shirodkar, Shri. Kapil Sardesai, Smt. Ujwala Naik and all KTC Board Members were present on the occasion.
Managing Director KTC Shri Derrick Neto Pereira welcomed the guests. Shri Dhanajay Mone compered the function.
