AG & VS IMPLEMENTS FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE CONTROL PROGRAMME

The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Panaji Goa is implementing ‘Foot and Mouth Disease Control Programme (FMD-CP) under National Animal Disease Control Programme (3rd Round)’ a Government of India Scheme.

In this connection the 3rd Round of Foot and Mouth Disease NADCP in the State of Goa had started from May 16, 2023 to May 31, 2023 with the available FMD vaccines. Gol has now supplied FMD vaccines and the vaccination round has to be continued from July 1, 2023 to July 30, 2023 wherein all efforts are being made to vaccinate all the cattle and buffalo population including stray animals.

As per the guidelines it is mandatory to Eartag all vaccinated animals for identification and upload the details on Bharat Pashudhan Portal.

The dairy farmers are requested to extend their full hearted cooperation to the teams/staff of the Department. The vaccination is to eradicate Foot & Mouth Disease which is a highly contagious disease. It causes economic losses in milk production, drought power, growth and reproduction, as informed by the Department of Information and Publicity.
