GOVT COLLEGE SANKHALI AND PES HIGHER SECONDARY EXCEL IN COMPETITION ON SHIVAJI MAHARAJ

Government College Sankhali emerged winners at the State Level Inter College Quiz Competition organised by the Department of Information and Publicity as a part of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti Celebration held at Farmagudi – Ponda recently.

Goa Medical College Bambolim won the Second Prize, whereas the third prize went to Nirmala Institute of Education, Panaji. The V.M. Salgaoncar College of Law, Miramar and Government College Quepem won the 4th and 5th place respectively.

The Quiz was conducted on the life, times and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in which 31 colleges across the State participated. Shri Swetang Naik, QuizLabs, Ribandar conducted the Quiz.

In the first ever All Goa Natya Pravesh (Theatrical Entry) competition held for High School and Higher Secondary School students in traditional attire on life and work of Shivaji Maharaj, PES’s SRSN Higher Secondary School, Farmagudi, Ponda emerged winners, the second prize was won by MIBK High School, Khandepar, Ponda, whereas the third Prize was bagged by SES Higher Secondary School, Usgao, Ponda. The consolation prize went to Madkaikar High School, Corlim, Ulhas and Shree Saraswati High School, Kavlem, Ponda.

The competition was judged by Shri Raju Naik, Smt. Leena Pednekar and Shri Kirtikumar Prabhu.

Shri Dipak Bandekar, Director of Information and Publicity; Shri Allwyn Pereira, Information Officer; Shri Shanto Naik, Assistant Information Officer and Shri Siddhesh Samant, Information Assistant gave away prizes to the winners of the competition.

Shri Syam Gaonkar, Assistant Information Officer welcomed and announced the results.
