ROUND TABLE CONFERENCE ON INDIA -PORTUGUESE LINKS TO BE HELD IN GOA

The International Lusophone Festival will be held in Goa from December 3 to 6, 2022. The festival will be jointly organised by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the Government of Goa. All the countries of the Community of Portuguese Language Peoples (CPLP) will be participating in this Festival.

As part of this Festival, Goa University will be conducting Conference with two Round Table Discussions on CPLP – India ties to be held in Vivanta by Taj, Campal, Panaji from 10 am to 1.30 pm on December 4, 2022. The First Round Table will be held on “India’s Outreach to the Global South: Exploring Convergences with the CPLP”where distinguished Panel Speakers from the Ministry of External Affairs, the Goa Government, the CPLP fold including Associate Observers and the ICCR willpresent their perspectives on the subject.

The Second Round Table will discuss “India -Lusophone Historical and Cultural Linkages: Retrospect and Prospects” where intellectuals representing cultural and academic institutions will speak about the various dimensions of India-Lusophone links from the historical and cultural viewpoints.

The Round Table discussions seek to highlight the longstanding historical and cultural connects and suggest the way forward for strategic engagement and cooperation between India and the Lusophone Countries.
