PRACTICAL APPROACH IS A MUST TO SERVE SOCIETY -GOVIND GAUDE

For a student a practical approach towards life is equally important while achieving higher grades in education which can lead an individual to become a better citizen and serve the society more efficiently, stated Minister for Art and Culture Shri. Govind Gaude. He was speaking at the 4th ‘Adivasi Vidyarthi Sammelan organised by Directorate of Tribal Welfare in association with United Tribals Associations Alliance (UTAA) held at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao today.
The Sammelan is a part of Prerana Din which is being observed by the Directorate of Tribal Welfare, on May 25 every year in memory of late Manguesh Gaonkar and late Dilip Velip.
MLA, Cortalim Shri. Antonio Vaz, President, UTAA Shri. Prakash Velip, Chairman, Goa Commission for SC/ST Shri. Deepak Karmalkar, Chairman, Goa State Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation Ltd Shri. Vasudev Meng Gaonkar were present on the occasion.
Minister Shri. Gaude in his address reiterated that UTAA played a significant role in establishing the Tribal Welfare Department by the Government. UTAA had initiated numerous movements to ensure tribal rights for the community. New generation of the tribal community should not forget the sacrifices made by the UTAA and it’s activists who have shedded their blood for the betterment of the tribal community.
Shri. Gaude also called upon students to strive for an excellent career in life and always accord priority to the service for society instead of just holding high posts in their career.
Minister also launched an online mode for availing scholarship schemes for tribal students.
Shri. Prakash Velip highlighting importance of education adviced students not to get diverted from the education. students should decide their goal in life and strive hard to achieve it.
Shri. Vasudev Meng Gaonkar called upon students to avail optimum benefit of the welfare schemes meant for the tribal communities and achieve success in life.
Founder, Happiness Technology, Bangalore Shri. Arun Bharadwaj and Shri. Nagesh Sardessai presented lectures on Career guidance and personality development.
Director, Tribal Welfare Smt. Triveni Velip explained various schemes meant for tribal students in the state.
