69TH NATIONAL CO-OPERATIVE WEEK CONCLUDES

The Government has the vision of making the state, self reliant in agriculture, fish culture, horticulture, dairy production, skilled manpower for which the cooperation sector has a pivotal role to play stated the Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant while addressing at the concluding ceremony of 69th National Cooperative Week.2022 and State Award Presentation function held at Patto in the city today. The function was organized by the Department of Cooperation in collaboration with the Goa State Cooperative Union and National Cooperative Union of India, New Delhi, Keynote –Speaker, Shri Vithal Vernekar delivered his keynote address.

The Chief Minister said that the Government intends to implement the apprenticeship scheme under which training would be imparted and this is how skilled manpower would be created which will be available for the cooperation sector in future. He appreciated all the themes of cooperation week where in he suggested to implement and work over practically. There are ample opportunities of employment in the days to come which required hard and sincere working people.

The Chief Minister speaking further said that there are central and state Government schemes in force which requires proper implementation to achieve the objective of making Goa, a self-reliant that is Swayampurn Goa, he reiterated.

Minister for Cooperation Shri Subhash Shirodkar stressed the need for involvement of everyone in cooperative sector. This is the sector he said community welfare can be achieved. The success and failure of this sector lies upon the stakeholders he said.

Shri. Shirodkar suggested to adopt best innovative practices for the prosperity of cooperative sector. The central Government has cherished the goal of 5 trillion economy where in cooperative sector have an important role to play. He also urged for proper awareness to ensure maximum participation of people in this movement. He congratulated the recipient of the awards and advised to work for cooperative sector with dedication.

During the function awards in various categories were distributed at the hands of the Chief Minister. The recipients of awards included Best Cooperator award which was bagged by Shri Jaiwant Tukaram Adpaikar, Adpai Durbhat Ponda, While Best Chairman award was awarded to Shri Krishna V. Kudnekar, Merces V. K. S. S. Society Ltd. Merces.

The Best Secretary award went to Shri Sanjay S. Naik of Priol Gosanvardhan Cooperative Dairy Society Ltd. Priol Mardol Ponda.

The Societies such as Savoi- Verem Vividh Karyakari Sahakari Seva Society Ltd. Savoi- Verem Ponda. The Dairy Cooperative Societies which received awards for their outstanding performance included Salauli Milk Producers Cooperative Society Ltd. Salauli Salcete among Consumer Cooperative Societies, Shree Shantadurga Cooperative Society Ltd.. Kavlem Ponda. Whereas Salary Earners Cooperative Credit Societies, Goa Milk Union Employees Cooperative, Credit Society Ltd. Curti Ponda.

The award for Urban Cooperative Credit Societies was awarded to The Bicholim Merchants Urban Cooperative Credit Society Ltd. Bicholim, Urban Cooperative Federal & Apex Societies,The Goa State Cooperative Bank Ltd. Panaji

The award for all other types of Cooperative Societies was awarded to Thrift Cooperative Association Ltd. Ponda. Those Cooperative Societies which were honoured with a Certificates of Appreciation included The Sesa Goa Employees Cooperative Credit Society Ltd.Sankhali, Town & Country Planning Department Employees Cooperative Society Ltd. Ponda, The Azmane Urban Cooperative Credit Society Ltd. Neura, Tiswadi, Sattari Taluka Farmer’s Co-operative Society Ltd. Valpol Sattari,Shree Mahalaxmi V. K.S.S Society Lt. Netravali, Sanguem etc. The Chief Minister presented awards to all the recipients.

The Chief Minister released a magazine titled ‘Sahakar Goa, on the occasion.
