GOVT SERVANTS SHOULD BE SEVAK OF PEOPLE: CM

The Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawant appealing to the people entering into Government service to be sincere and have a humanitarian approach while dealing with the public said when you join Government service, you have to be the ‘sevak’ of the people.

Dr Sawant was speaking at the function where compassionate appointment letters were distributed to beneficiaries and handing of the offer of appointments for GMR Goa International Airport Limited at New Airport and Admission Letters in Aviation Skill Development Centre at a function organised at Technical Education Auditorium, Porvorim today.

The Chief Minister said a large number of employment opportunities will be available on commencement of Mopa Airport and Pednekar will be given priority. The Chief Minister said that additional 500 jobs would be available in the next six months at Mopa Airport.

The Chief Minister informed that GMR has started around twenty different courses in Aviation Skill Center which are available on their website. In this context the Chief Minister added ample opportunities are available in Goa for various skilled professionals. We have to grab these opportunities by acquiring skills. The Chief Minister, informing of wide scope and opportunities in the hospitality related courses to grow as an individual in different fields, urged upon the youths to venture into the hospitality sector and make their career.

The Chief Minister asked the beneficiaries to look after the dependents of those on whose behalf they have got the Government job. In order to increase efficiency and to upgrade skills in the job, continuous skilling and continuous training is required, the Chief Minister added.

In all 21 candidates were issued the letter of appointment under Compassionate ground in Group C and 90 beneficiaries were handed over the offer of appointments in GMR Goa International Airport Limited at New Airport and 150 Admission Letters to Aviation Skill Development Centre.

Shri Praveen Arlekar, MLA also spoke on the occasion.

Special Secretary Personnel Shri Sanjiv Gadkar IAS, briefed about the summary of the scheme.

Shri R. V. Seshan, CEO GMR, Smt. Nathine Araujo, Under Secretary, Personnel, Family members of beneficiaries, Staff of Personal Department were also present on the occasion.
