GOVERNOR DISTRIBUTES FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO HOMELESS WOMEN IN CANACONA

Governor of Goa Shri. P. S. Shreedharan Pillai today distributed financial assistance to two homeless women from the Scheduled Tribe community of Canacona taluka from the Discretionary Fund of the Governor at Raj Bhavan, Dona paula.

Shri. Pillai had visited canacona taluka in the first week of April 2022 as a part of ‘Goa Sampurna Yatra’. During his visit the Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly had requested Governor to extend financial assistance to Smt. Kavina K. Gaonkar and Smt. Pomu S. Mirashi who were facing a difficult time due to lack of proper shelter.

Governor therefore has generously given financial assistance to the tune of Rs. one lakh to each one of them. The cheques were handed over to the beneficiaries in the presence of the Speaker, Goa Legislative Assembly Shri. Ramesh Tawadkar, Secretary to Governor Shri. R. Mihir Vardhan and the B. D. O. of Canacona Shri. Anil Naik at Raj Bhavan.
