CM INAUGURATES CREDIT MELA FOR SHG

Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant in presence of Art and Culture Minister Shri Govind Gawade inaugurated Credit Mela Goa State Rural Livelihood Mission ( Streeshakti) for Self Help Groups organized by Department of Rural Development Goa at Rajiv Kala Mandir Ponda today.
Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said Government is constantly working to provide support to women with financial power through RDA department. Today we have almost distributed Rs. 2.30 crores to SHGs and village organization from all over Goa. 300 Self help Groups and 164 village organization and from this groups almost 42 thousands Women have become Sawyampurn, he added.
Dr. Sawant lauded the initiative of Goa Livelihood Forum for conducting various types of packing, marketing sessions for Self Help Groups members which will assist them to start their own business. Expressing concern over the States Dependence on the neighboring states for its basic necessities like vegetables, flowers, Milk he said Government is providing 20 crores subsidy per year for vegetables and urged the people of Goa to start their own business by deriving benefits of Government schemes. Together, we can successfully make Goa Swayampurn, he observed.
Art and Culture Minister Shri Govind Gawade also spoke on the occasion.
The Chief Minister distributed order of funds to Self help Groups and Village organizations from all over the State on the occasion.
Director of RDA Smt. Meena Goltekar, Shri Pravin Barad, Shri Rajesh Kulkarni were present on the occasion.
