CM ASSURES SAFETY ALLOWANCE TO FIRE FIGHTERS

Chief Minister Dr.Pramod Sawant today announced that the Government will approve safety allowance to the fire fighters of Fire and Emergency Services. He also informed that the State Government in tune of `National Apada Scheme` will appoint `Apada Mitras` and `Apada Sakhi` trained in safety skills at taluka level who will provide
basic safety assistance to people.

Chief Minister Dr. Sawant was speaking at a programme organised by the Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services on the occasion of National Fire Service Day.

The Chief Minister lauded the Fire and Emergency Services for its commendable service towards society. He assured that the Government will procure all the equipment and machinery which are required for providing better safety to the people.

Chief Minister Dr. Sawant expressed satisfaction as the Fire and Emergency Services is providing upgraded Safety training to Fire Officers of other States.

Various demonstrations of various fire fighting and rescue operations along with modern equipment were presented on the occasion.

Director, Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services Shri. Nitin Raikar said that the Department intends to improve facilities at Fire Stations with use of new technology, data and other support. He informed about various initiatives implemented for Safety awareness and Training programmes.

Commendation Certificates for exemplary performance in the field of Fire fire fighting and Rescue Operation were presented to Leading Fire Fighters, Fire Fighters, Drivers, watch room operators.

The Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services also conducted a Poster competition for School students. Prizes were presented to the winning students.
