LIQUOR SHOPS TO REMAIN CLOSED

The Government of Goa has directed that all licensed premises “for the sale of liquor” located within the jurisdiction of 05 Municipal Councils viz Mapusa, Margao, Mormugao, Sanguem and Quepem and Bye Elections to ward No. II of Village Panchayat, Karapur-Sarvan in Bicholim Taluka and Ward No. IV of Village Panchayat, Velim in Salcete Taluka will be closed from 12.00 a.m. on April 22, 2021 till midnight of April 23, 2021 i.e. on Polling day and on date of counting of votes on April 26, 2021 from 12.00 a.m. to midnight of April 26, 2021 within jurisdiction of local body where counting is taking place.

However, the licensed premises having licence for “Bar and Restaurant” may be allowed to keep the restaurant open for serving food only and the Bar counter shall be closed and no liquor shall be allowed to served on the above mentioned days. The owners of the license premises having “Bar and Restaurant” shall also display a board in the premises, stating that no liquor will be served and that the restaurant will be open for serving food only.
