HARVALEM GETS NEW PUSH FOR CIVIC AMENITIES, LIVELIHOODS AND COMMUNITY WELFARE

Strengthening community infrastructure and creating opportunities at the grassroots Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant today inaugurated and dedicated a range of community development initiatives in Harvalem, covering public amenities, livelihoods, clean energy, education, sports and community welfare.

Improving essential amenities and public spaces, the initiatives included a new bus stop shed, beautification of the parking area at Pratapnagar and improvement of existing parking spaces in Ward No. IV. Solar panels installed at households were also inaugurated, while door-to-door pink waste collection was launched in Harvalem and Pale-Cotombi, supporting improved waste management and cleaner surroundings.

Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister said, “Our commitment is to ensure development reaches the grassroots and benefits local communities.” He highlighted the range of initiatives covering public facilities, livelihoods, clean energy, education and sports, including livelihood support under Swayampurna Goa for a cashew processing unit and a Self Help Group’s catering enterprise. He also highlighted the Fit Harvalem initiative, launched in collaboration with Lupin Human Welfare & Research Foundation, through which sports kits were provided to local schools and youth clubs and a table tennis board was provided for the community.

Recognizing sporting talent and encouraging wider participation, young sportspersons Anisha Anil Malik and Kamlesh Krishna Malik were felicitated on National Sports Day for representing Goa at national-level competitions. The initiatives collectively seek to improve everyday amenities, support local livelihoods and promote a cleaner, greener, healthier and more empowered Harvalem.
