CHIEF MINISTER EXTENDS WISHES TO THE PEOPLE OF GOA ON THE 80TH INDEPENDENCE DAY

On the historic occasion of the 80th Independence Day, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to every Goan, every Indian, and the Indian diaspora across the world.
In his message, the Chief Minister said that, as the nation proudly hoists the Tiranga under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, it also commemorates 150 Years of Vande Mataram, the timeless anthem that inspired generations of Indians to fight for freedom with courage, sacrifice and unwavering patriotism.
Dr. Sawant stated that, “India’s Independence on 15th August 1947 was secured through the sacrifices of countless freedom fighters and unsung heroes. He further said that for Goa, the spirit of Vande Mataram continued through the Patradevi Satyagraha and the Goa Liberation Movement, ultimately leading to Goa’s liberation and its proud place in the Indian Union”. He paid rich tributes to every known and unknown hero who made the nation’s freedom possible.
The Chief Minister highlighted that as India moves steadily towards the vision of Viksit Bharat, Goa continues to build a Swayampurna Goa through inclusive growth, quality education, better healthcare, modern infrastructure and sustainable development, while preserving its rich heritage, traditions and culture.
The Chief Minister, emphasized that freedom is not merely a celebration but a shared responsibility. He urged every citizen to remain united, uphold the spirit of Nation First, actively participate in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, and carry forward the enduring message of Vande Mataram for generations to come.
Conveying his best wishes to the people, the Chief Minister wished everyone a Happy 80th Independence Day, Jai Hind! Jai Goa! Vande Mataram!
