PUBLIC AWARENESS NOTICE – CB TEST ALERT

The general Public are informed that a test of the Cell Broadcast (CB) Emergency Alert System will be conducted on May 2, 2026 as part of a nationwide preparedness exercise. During this test, one may receive test alert messages on their mobile phones. These alerts are only for testing purposes and DO NOT indicates any real emergency.

The objective of this exercise is to evaluate the effectiveness of the emergency alert system for timely dissemination of critical information during disasters. A prior informational SMS will also be sent to citizens before the test to avoid confusion.

In this regard the public are advised to do not panic upon receiving the alert, do not spread rumors or misinformation and cooperate and help spread awareness among family and community.

Similarly it is also informed that this is a routine Pre-Monsoon preparedness activity to strengthen the Emergency Alert/Early Warning System for public safety, issued in public interest by Goa SDMA.
