CM TO INAUGURATE ‘AHILYA’ GIRLS HOSTEL

Strengthening educational infrastructure and promoting a safe and supportive environment for female students, the Government of Goa will inaugurate “AHILYA”, Girls’ Hostel at the Government College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Khandola, on April 22, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant will inaugurate the hostel in the presence of senior officials, faculty members, and students.
The newly constructed hostel, built and developed by GSIDC at an approximate cost of ₹6.5 crore, features modern infrastructure with a range of amenities including a canteen and pantry, indoor games such as table tennis, a yoga hall, badminton courts, and CCTV surveillance to ensure safety and comfort for students. The facility is designed to provide secure accommodation and a conducive environment for academic growth. The initiative aims to support students, especially those from remote areas, by ensuring better access to higher education.
The project reflects the Government’s commitment to empowering young women through improved infrastructure and equal opportunities in education.
The programme will include the inauguration ceremony, interaction with students, and a walkthrough of the hostel facilities.
