SUB-COMMITTEE APPOINTED TO APPROVE STALLS FOR LAIRAI JATRA

To enhance safety and crowd management for the upcoming shree Lairai Jatra at Shirigao, the North Goa District Disaster Management Authority appointed a Sub-Committee to oversee the regulation and approval of festival stalls.

The Sub-Committee will be headed by Deputy Collector and SDO, Bicholim. Deputy Superintendent of Police and SDPO, Bicholim, Fire Safety Officer, Executive Engineer, Public Works Department (Buildings), Executive Engineer, Electricity Department, Representative of Managing Committee of Shree Lairai Saunsthan of Shirigao, Village Panchayat Secretary, Village Panchayat Shirigao will be members and Mamlatdar, Bicholim will be Member Secretary of the Committee.

The Committee will scrutinize the proposal for stalls with reference to the recommendations of facts finding committee and submit the same for approval of the District Disaster Management Authority. It will submit the report to DDMA on or before April 10, 2026.

The Committee shall oversee the enforcement of the approval layout on the site and removal of any unauthorized stalls
