DFES TO ORGANIZE POSTER COMPETITION FOR SCHOOL STUDENTS

The Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services (DFES) will observe National Fire Service Day on April 14, 2026. As part of the commemorative activities, a Poster Competition will be organised for school students across the State on April 04, 2026 at various Fire Stations.

The competition aims to promote fire safety awareness among young students and encourage them to actively contribute towards building a safer and more informed society through creative expression.

The competition will be conducted in two categories Group I and Group II. Group I will consist of students of the age 7 to 10 years and the Topic will be “Stop, Drop and Roll-Stay Safe from Fire”. Group II will consist of students of the age 11 to 14 years and Topic will be “Fire Safety Awareness for a Safer Society”. The duration of the competition will be two hours, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.

The competition will be held at the following venues under the jurisdiction of respective Fire Stations; Bicholim Fire Station- Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Govt. High School Bicholim, Canacona Fire Station- Govt. High School, Canacona, Cuncolim Fire Station- Infant Jesus High School, Cuncolim, Curchorem Fire Station – Sarvodaya Educational Society, Curchorem, Kundaim Fire Station -Wagle High School, Mangeshi & New English High School, Manas Wada, Kundaim, Mapusa Fire Station – A.D.E.I. School, Opp. Hanuman Natyagraha, Mapusa, Margao Fire Station- Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, Old Goa Fire Station – Old Goa Educational Institute School, Old Goa, Panaji Fire Station- Don Bosco High School, Panaji, Pernem Fire Station-Govt. High School near ADEI Office, Pernem, Pilerne Fire Station- Don Bosco High School, Calangute, near St. Alex Church, Ponda Fire Station – Almeida High School, Ponda, Porvorim Fire Station- Triumph High School, near Sanjay School, Porvorim, Valpoi Fire Station-Govt. Primary School, near A.D.E.I. Office, Valpoi, Vasco Fire Station – Panchayat Hall, Chicalim, Verna Fire Station -Mhalsa High School, Verna.

The winners will be felicitated during the official National Fire Service Day function to, be held on April 14, 2026 at 10:00 pm at the Goa State Fire Force Headquarters, Panaji

The Directorate urges schools, parents, and students to actively participate in this initiative and contribute towards spreading awareness on fire prevention and safety practices.
