KAMAT URGES PEOPLE TO SUPPORT GOVERNMENT’S EFFORTS IN ACHIEVING VIKSIT GOA 2037

Minister for Public Works Shri. Digambar Kamat today urged people to support the government efforts in making the State Viksit Goa by 2037. He was addressing the citizens after unfurling the National flag on the occasion of Republic Day held at South Goa Collectorate, Margao.

Minister Shri. Kamat expressing disappointment over aggression and opposition raised on the welfare projects related to educational institutions by some sections of the people, he said that if Educational Institutions of international stature are allowed, Goa will be able to build high class educational infrastructure for the generations to come which will benefit our students community at large. Thus people should understand the importance of such educational projects and extend their support for welfare projects thereby achieving the aim of Viksit of Goa -2037.

Shri. Kamat emphasized on various welfare schemes implemented by the Government which has been benefiting people at large. He said the recently launched Maje Ghar Yojana proved to be very beneficial for people in allowing legal rights of the houses built on community land before 2014. Government has been extending support to young entrepreneurs in the State through Mukhyamantri Rojgar Yojana. It has also rendered support to differently abled people in various means. Successful organization of Purple Fest in the State has provided an inclusive platform for people with disabilities to showcase their skills and immense talents. The Children Festival `Bul Bul` recently held in the Margao city witnessed great enthusiasm of the children community towards films, creativity and cultural values.

Minister Shri. Kamat lauded the decision of the Government in forming the third district Kushavati in the State. The third district would help the Government in bringing administration at the door step of the people.

He urged every citizen to contribute towards national development. Collective efforts would ensure India soon attains global superpower status.

Shri. Kamat earlier received Guard of Honor from the Police Contingent and also inspected the March Past by the Police troupe, Home Guard, NCC Cadets and Students of various schools.

School Children from various schools in the vicinity of Margao presented patriotic songs and cultural dances on the occasion.

MLA, Navelim Shri. Ulhas Tuenkar, South Goa District Collector Smt. Egna Cleetus, IAS, Superintendent of Police, South Goa Shri. Tikam Singh Verma, IPS and Senior Officers, Freedom Fighters and other prominent personalities were present on the occasion.
