DM South prohibits flying of drones, UAVs on Jan 4-5

District Magistrate, South has prohibited aerial photography and videography and the flying or operation of any Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAVs) /drones in any form within a radius of 02 kms of Dabolim International Airport, INS Hansa Mess, Goa Shipyard Limited and the route NH366 from Cortalim towards Swatantrapath Vasco and NH 566 from Birla Cross towards Varunapuri, from 3.30 pm on January 04, 2026 till 1 pm on January 05, 2026. This has been done in view of security arrangements for visit of Defence Minister in Goa.
This order however, shall not apply to police personnel, Government officials/agencies if using the drone for purely official duties subject to that they shall be in their prescribed service uniforms, wherever applicable, and shall carry valid identity cards, and written authorisation issued by the competent authority, permitting the use of the drones for official purposes. This exemption shall however be applicable only when such personnel are on official duty and strictly for official purposes during the enforcement of this order.
