CM LAUNCHES MUKHYAMANTRI SWAYAM ROJGAR YOJANA

In a major push towards enabling self-employment and entrepreneurial growth across the State, the Government has officially launched the Mukhyamantri Swayam Rojgar Yojana (MSRY) , a flagship scheme designed to build a vibrant, inclusive, and future-ready entrepreneurial ecosystem. This ambitious initiative is being spearheaded by EDC Ltd., the State’s premier development corporation, in strategic partnership with the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) – Goa Centre.

The program aims to sensitize, educate, mentor, and empower youth, faculty and citizens across all talukas of Goa by fostering innovation, enterprise creation and local job opportunities. The MSRY initiative aligns with the State’s broader goals of Swayampurna Goa as well as national frameworks like the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Startup India, and Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan.

At the launch event Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant, emphasized that “Entrepreneurship is the future of Goa. With the Mukhyamantri Swayam Rojgar Yojana, we are not just creating jobs — we are creating job creators. This initiative will transform the way our youth, educators, and society approach the idea of growth, innovation, and self-reliance”, he said.

Senior officials from EDC Ltd. And EDII echoed this sentiment, affirming that the scheme will not only generate sustainable livelihoods but also strengthen Goa’s standing in the national innovation ecosystem. Over a five-year implementation period, MSRY is expected to train 1,000+ faculty mentors from across Goa. And engage 10,000+ students and citizens in awareness and ideation activities. Similarly, catalyze the emergence of hundreds of new ventures, contributing to job creation, local economic development, and resilience, also institutionalize entrepreneurship as a core pillar of Goa’s development strategy
