CHIEF MINISTER EXTENDS DIWALI GREETINGS

Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant extended his wholehearted greetings to the people of Goa, on the auspicious occasion of Diwali, the festival of lights praying for the happiness and prosperity of the citizens.

In his message to the people of Goa Dr Sawant said, “On the divine occasion of Deepavali, I extend my warm greetings to all. Diwali is a lively celebration that symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. The festival is associated with Lord Rama who returned to Ayodhya, on this day, after victory by defeating Ravana. People celebrate Diwali by lighting Diyas, to welcome Lord Rama after his triumph over evil.”

Dr Sawant further said, “Diwali builds society with peace, brotherhood and this is a time to create fond memories and spread kindness. The glow from Diyas brightens the lives of the people, while uniting everyone to defeat all the disturbing forces.”

“While we celebrate this festival, Let us spread the light of knowledge in every corner of the State. I urge the people to buy local products following the spirit of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Swayampurna Goa’ by stressing more on the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative, a call given by our Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi. Let us come together with a shared commitment to support Goa’s remarkable development journey,” CM added.

“Let us celebrate Diwali with eco-friendly products and ensure a safe festival. I hope for a brighter future of the State and Goenkars, with Diwali igniting enthusiasm for progress. I also pray for fresh energy and happiness in everyone’s life. May the light of Diwali illuminate people’s mind and heart with the spirit of oneness,” CM concluded.
