Chief Minister pays tribute to Mahatma Gandhi

Chief Minister Dr.Pramod Sawant led the people of the State to paid floral tributes to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Old Goa today.
Union Minister of State for Power, New & renewable Energy Shri Shripad Naik, MLA, Shri Rajesh Faldessai, Dy.Sarpanch of Se Old Goa Panchayat, Shri Ambar Amonkar, President of Zilla Panchayat North Goa Shri Dhaku Madkaikar, Zilla Panchayat Member Shri Siddhesh S. Naik, and other paid floral tribute to the memory of the great leader Mahatma Gandhi at his life size state on the occasion.
Chief Minister speaking on the occasion asserting that Swayampurna Goa mission, which completes 5 years today, said efforts has supplemented to make every Goan, village and city self reliant. This mission has enabled to reach out to the last person of the society and ensure that no one was left out of all schemes of the government which includes har ghar jal, har ghar bijli har ghar sauchalay etc. Under this mission, due importance is given in sectors such as agriculture, horticulture, floriculture, dairy culture etc. to make youth more competent and self reliant.
He informed that the government makes policy decisions on a regular basis and invests in infrastructure such as waste treatment plants to keep Goa clean and green. He urged everyone to help the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign to create a clean and attractive Goa, which will benefit not only the tourism industry but also keep all Goans healthy.
He complimented all government departments for their support during the Seva Pakhwada campaign, which ran from September 17 to October 2, and focused on cleanliness, environment, social work, and the ideal of Vikasit Bharat.
The CM informed that the Mhaje Ghar Yojna plan, an initiative to regularise and offer legal recognition to unauthorised dwellings constructed by long-term occupants, will be launched during the Union Home Minister Visit scheduled for October 4, 2025.
Religious leaders, Shri Sudesh Paranjpe, Fr Patricio Fernandes and Hazarat Maulana Mahammad Rafik recited verses from the Bhagwad Gita, Bible and Quran.
Kala Academy choir group sang bhajans on the occasion. Dy. Sarpanch of Se Old Goa, Shri Ambar Amonkar welcomed the guest while Shri Pradip Naik compered the function.
Later, the Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, Union Minister of State for Power, New & renewable Energy Shri Shripad Naik, MLA, Shri Rajesh Faldessai, Dy.Sarpanch of Se Old Goa Panchayat, Shri Ambar Amonkar, Zilla Panchayat Member Shri Siddhesh S. Naik, and other dignitaries attended the function organised by Se Old Goa Village Panchayat to celebrate the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister of India, late Lal Bahadur Shastri, at the panchayat premises and offered floral tributes.
