The Governor of Goa, Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai has extended his heartiest greetings and warm wishes on the occasion of the Teachers Day to the teaching fraternity.

Governor in this message said “This day is celebrated on September 5 every year in India to acknowledge the contribution of teachers in the society. The day marks the birth anniversary of India’s second President and first Vice President, Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He is an inspiration for all teachers, besides being an eminent philosopher, educationist par excellence and profound humanist.”

He said, Teacher is another name of wisdom in our ancient tradition. Teaching is a noble profession and teachers have traditionally been held in high regard and with respect in our society. Education is not merely imparting knowledge and skills to the students but in a broader sense it means moulding the tender minds and hearts into virtuous and positive individuals who can live in harmony with all existence.”

Governor further said, “I extend my wishes to all the teachers. It is due to their efforts that responsible citizens emerge, who are ready to work for the welfare of the nation in every possible manner. I once again would like to urge all the teachers to continue to serve the nation with a renewed sense of dedication, devotion and commitment”, the Governor concluded.
