IMD ISSUES RED ALERT FOR GOA ON JULY 8 Control Room set up across State/Taluka

The State Disaster Management Authority, Goa have informed the general public that the IMD has forecasted extremely heavy rainfall over Goa on July 08, 2022 and very heavy rainfall on July 09, 2022 to 10/07/2022. A red alert has been issued for July 08, 2022.
Necessary instructions have been issued to the Disaster Management Authorities in the State to activate the field machinery for taking precautionary actions and to tackle any situation arising out of heavy rainfall.
The general public, in view of the above are requested to take precautionary measures – Avoid staying near weak trees/structures or areas vulnerable for landslides/rock falls; not to drive into flooded areas; Avoid going to areas that face water logging problems often; Take safety measures while dealing with electric power and avoid venturing into water bodies unless absolutely necessary.
