Chaitra 23, 1943
Governor of Goa Shri. P. S. Sreedharan Pillai has extended his greetings on the occasion of Baisakhi particularly the Sikh brethren on April 14, 2022.
Governor in his message said that Baisakhi is one of the most important festivals of the Sikhs which is celebrated with great fanfare and gaiety. It has profound religious significance, as it was on this day in 1699 that Guru Gobind Singh, the Tenth Sikh Guru, laid the foundation of Panth Khalsa. Closely connected to the harvesting season of the rabi crop, it makes the beginning of the new year. The celebration of such festivals besides being occasions of joy and
exuberance have always played an important role in furthering the cause of national unity and social harmony.
This year let the festivities be observed with adherence to safety protocols and may the celebration of Baisakhi bring greater peace, prosperity and happiness to one and all, the Governor added.
