Govt Committed Towards Best Eye Treatment: Dr. Sawant

Government is putting its sincere efforts in providing best facilities to people in the sector of eye treatment thereby eradicating the blindness among the people, stated Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant. He was speaking at a inaugural programme of Free Eye Check up and Surgery Camp under the project `Vision for All` organized by Directorate of Health Services at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao today.

Chief Minister Dr. Sawant has informed that, Government intends to provide Super Specialty Eye treatment through project `Vision For All`. The Eye treatment and Surgery Camp aims to give hassle free and safe eye treatment to people. He further stated that, Vision for All Eye Camps have helped Government machinery to identify lots of people with vision difficulties and provide prompt treatment who were on verse of losing their vision partially. Vision for All Eye Camps will be held all over the State, starting with urban areas and thereafter villages, CM added.

Vision for All free Eye check up and Surgery camp is being organized in association with Prasad Netralaya Udapi Mangalore, Colorcon Company and Ravindra Bhavan Margao. The Camp comprise of free Eye Check up, Medicine, Spectacles and Surgery. The Camp received tremendous response. Large number of people from Margao and Fatorda areas registered for eye check up.

Chairman of Ravindra Bhavan Shri. Damu Naik expressed that, the Vision for All Eye Camp will be significant in providing the best treatment in combating blindness in the State. He appealedto the people to avail the benefit of the Camp in large numbers.

Coordinator of the Vision for All Camp, Shri. Suraj Naik briefed the gathering about the objective of the camp. Chief Medical Officer, DHS Dr. Rupa Nayak welcomed the gathering. Manager, Colorcon, Shri. Sudhakar Venigalla spoke on the occasion.

Dr. Anju Kharangate, Dr. Deepa Correa, Dr. Dhananjay K.H from Prasad Netralaya, Member Secretary of Ravindra Bhavan Margao, Shri.Prasanna Acharya were present on the occasion.

Cultural Officer Ravindra Bhavan Margao Shri. Pritesh Desai compered the programme and Dr. Pratistha Kunkalkar proposed vote of thanks.
