CM Commissions Two Traffic Signals at VIE

Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawant commissioned two traffic signals at two major junctions in Verna Industrial Estate, Verna today. Signal which is erected at IFB Junction is sponsored by Commscope India Pvt. Ltd. while the other one is erected at Coca-Cola Junction is sponsored by Colorcon Asia Pvt. Ltd.
Chief Minister was also felicitated by Verna Industries Association at Associations Office.
While speaking on the occasion Dr Sawant said, Verna Industrial Estate is one of prime and important industrial estate of the State which is popular nationally and internationally. He said, Government is supporting industrial sector and will take up all the issues faced by them. He further said that, he will arrange joint meeting of industrialists in the coming week with officials of Department of Factories and Boilers, Industrial Development Corporation and Power Department.
Dr Sawant said, industrialists are employment creators and support system of economy. He applauded the contribution of various companies during difficult Covid time. While celebrating 60th year of Goa Liberation Government is focused to human development, he added.
Waste Disposal issue in Industrial Estates should be taken up by industries themselves, he said and added that Waste Development Corporation will provide all support. He said, Government has established Corporate Social Responsibility Society and urged industries to contribute to it. Project Cell is also formed under this society which will provide all support to companies for their CSR projects.
Dr Sawant highlighting the detail about Atma Nirbhar Bharat, Swayampurna Goa concept and initiative undertaken through it, appealed to support Vocal for local programme of the Government.
He said Bus service will be made available soon in the Industrial Estates of the State for the benefit of workers in all three shifts. Government is focused to infrastructure development and skilling of youth. This year’s State budget will be Swayampurna, he added.
Chief Minister visited the Motorcycle pilot station provided by Colorcon Asia Pvt. Ltd. Dr Sawant also visited Colorcon Asia Pvt. Ltd. Company. Colorcon Asia Pvt Ltd. has also done the refurbication of Sub-way; beautification of main junction island and beautification work of dividers.
President, Verna Industries Association, Shri Pradip Peregrino Da Costa; Vice President, Shri Rajesh Prabhu and others were present on occasion. Founder President, Verna Industries Association, Shri Nitin Kunkolikar briefed about the journey of the Association. Director, Colorcon Asia Pvt. Ltd., Shri Sarvesh Parab and HR Head, Commscope India Pvt. Ltd., Shri Ravi Rebello were also honored for their CSR initiatives.
