SPECIAL INTENSIVE REVISION 2026 W.RT 01/01/2026 AS QUALIFYING DATE

The Draft Electoral Roll of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 has been published on December 16, 2025.

The electors whose names are appearing in the said Draft Electoral Roll are required to take note that in case they have acquired the citizenship of any foreign country then they are required to fill Form 7 for deletion of their name from the Electoral Roll and submit the same to the concerned Electoral Registration Officer, since as per section 16(1)(a) of Representation of People Act 1950, a person shall be disqualified for registration in the electoral roll, if he is not a citizen of India.

Further, it may also be noted that if any person makes false declaration in connection with the preparation, revision or correction of an electoral roll or the inclusion or exclusion of any entry in or from an electoral roll, a statement or declaration in writing which is false and which he either knows or believes to be false or does not believe to be true, he shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine or with both as per section 31 of Representation of People Act 1950.
