RE4GENDER” IDEA COMPETITION LAUNCHED

Panaji : January 12, 2026

The Government has launched RE4Gender, an idea competition to promote women-led renewable energy solutions that enhance livelihoods in agriculture, fisheries, and allied sectors. The initiative is being implemented in collaboration with the Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA), District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) and GIZ.

The competition is open to Women Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Farmer Producers Organizations (FPOs), NGOs, CSOs, and small businesses registered in Goa and working in relevant sectors. It invites innovative ideas using clean energy solutions, such as solar power, to reduce drudgery, save time and costs and improve productivity for women in rural and semi-urban areas. Ideas already supported under schemes like PM-KUSUM and PM Surya Ghar are not eligible.

RE4Gender will be conducted in two rounds. In Round One, applicants will submit a brief proposal outlining their organization, motivation, and concept. Shortlisted proposals will advance to Round Two, where participants will present their ideas through a short written submission or video.

Proposals will be evaluated by a jury comprising representatives from DRDA, GEDA, GIPARD, GED, GWMC, NABARD, and GIZ. Two proposals will be selected, each receiving financial support of up to 12.5 lakh, released in phases to pilot and test the ideas.

Application forms are available on the DRDA website, and eligible organizations are encouraged to apply and contribute to women’s empowerment and sustainable clean-energy-based livelihoods in Goa.
