GOVERNMENT HOSPITAL AND RESEARCH CENTRE (GMC LINK) INAUGURATED AT TUEM

The Government Hospital and Research Centre (GMC Link) was inaugurated at Tuem, enhancing access to medical services for residents of the Pernem taluka and surrounding areas in North Goa. The facility is expected to play a key role in improving the availability of quality healthcare in the region.

The hospital has been made operational with the posting of available doctors, ensuring essential medical services for the local population. Operation Theatre services and additional facilities are expected to commence in the coming months. The centre is also expected to support future healthcare and academic initiatives, contributing to the long-term development of medical services in the area.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant praised Health Minister Shri Vishwajit Rane for the transformative work carried out in the health sector and said, “Public service is our guiding principle, and strengthening healthcare remains a top priority of the government.” He further stated, “The government has undertaken extensive healthcare development across the state, and young Goan doctors should come forward to serve the people of Goa, especially in rural areas.” CM Dr. Sawant also emphasised the need for a positive approach towards development initiatives, stating that the government works with a clear vision focused on the welfare of the people and the overall progress of Goa.

The inauguration was attended by Health, Women and Child Development and Town and Country Planning Minister Shri Vishwajit Rane, MLA Pernem and Chairman GHRSSIDC Shri Pravin Arlekar, MLA Mandrem Shri Jit Arolkar, former Chief Minister Shri Laxmikant Parsekar, Sarpanch of Tuem Smt. Anita Salgaonkar, along with other Zilla Parishad members, senior officials, and other dignitaries.
