GOA LIBERATION DAY CELEBRATED AT MARGAO

PWD Minister, Shri Digamber Kamat unfurled the National Tricolour to mark the 65th Goa Liberation Day celebrations at Matanhy Saldanha Administrative Complex, Margao today.

Minister Shri Kamat on his arrival was received by the District Magistrate and Collector, Smt Egna Cleetus, IAS and Superintendent of Police, Shri Tikam Singh Verma, IPS and took the Guard of Honour from the Police contingent.

Later Shri Kamat took salute from the march past of contingents of Goa Police lead by Police Inspector, Shri Suraj Samant and Home Guards and students of Government High School, Valkini Sanguem; PM Shri Navodaya Vidyalaya Cancona; Government High School, Ambaulim Quepem; St Anthony’s High School, Galgibag; Holy Rosary Convent High School, Nuvem and Our Lady of Health High School, Cuncolim. Various cultural programmes were held on the occasion.

MLA, Alexio Reginaldo Lourenco; Additional Collectors, Shri Srinet Kotwale, Shri Ramesh Gaonkar; Ex Minister, Shri Eduardo Faleiro, Senior Government officials, freedom fighters were amongst those prominent persons present on the occasion. Shri Anil Pai compered the programme.
