DRAFT ELECTORAL ROLL PREPARED, OPEN FOR PUBLIC SCRUTINY

Collector and District Election Officer, North Goa District, Shri Ankit Yadav, IAS, convened a meeting today at Collectorate North, with the representatives of recognized political parties and handed over the Draft Electoral Roll for Special Intensive revision 2026.
During the meeting the Collector informed the members that the Draft Electoral Roll with respect to Special Intensive Revision 2026 and Draft Electoral Roll of Special Summary Revision of the last part of the Electoral Roll relating to Service voters has been prepared and published on December 16, 2025. The total numbers of electors in the draft electoral roll for North Goa District are 5,08,385 of which 2,46,173 are Male voters and 2,62,212 are Female voters.
The Collector, further informed that the period for filling the claims & objections and issuing notice (decision on Enumeration Forms and disposal of claim and objection to be done concurrently by the EROS) has commenced as per the schedule provided by Election Commission of India.
Period for filing claims and Objections is from December 16, 2025 (Tuesday) to January 15, 2026(Thursday), Notice Phase (Issuance, hearing & verification): decision on Enumeration Forms and disposal of claim and objection to be done concurrently by the EROS from December 16, 2025 (Tuesday) to February 07, 2026(Saturday), Checking of health parameters of electoral rolls and obtaining Commission’s permission for final publication by February 10, 2026 (Tuesday) and Final Publication of Electoral Roll on February 14, 2026.
The Collector has further informed that incase if any party/elector is aggrieved by the decision of the ERO, then he can appeal to the District Election Officer/Collector under Section 24 (a) of the Representation of the People Act, 1950. That second appeal under Section 24 (b) against the decision of the first Appellate authority shall lie with the Chief Electoral Officer, in the manner prescribed under Rule 27 of the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960.
