DM SOUTH ORDER TENANT VERIFICATION

District Magistrate, South Goa District, Margao has issued order concerning tenant verification and security measures in the district. All the owners of the houses, building, flats and other residential accommodation and the owners/management of all hotels, lodging and boarding, shacks, private guest houses, paying guest facilities, religious bodies, offering temporarily residential accommodation etc in the south Goa District should verify the bonafides of the persons through their proof of identity such Election Card, Driving License, Aadhar Card, Passport, Smart Card, etc

It is further stated that, no landlords/tenants/owner/person of any house/ property falling under the territorial jurisdiction of South Goa District, Goa shall let, sublet, rent out any accommodation to any person unless the particulars of the tenants have been furnished to the Office- In-Charge of the concerned Police Station.

In-Charges of such accommodation should provide such facilities for inspection of the maintenance of record by the Police authorities or any other authority authorized by the District Magistrate South.

Similarly, all the head of nationalized banks of South Goa District should deploy security guards for security of their ATM’s round the clock and also to install CCTV cameras or shall installed ESS (Electronic Survey System) equipped with Panic button hooter, CCTV Cameras, two-way communication system and remote outstanding control.

The order has come into force from November 05, 2025 and will remain in operation for the period of 60 days unless withdrawn earlier. Violation of order is punishable u/s 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
