DEO, SOUTH ANNOUNCES SCHEDULE FOR CLAIMS AND OBJECTIONS TOWARDS SIR 2026

The office of the District Election Officer, South Goa has announced the schedule for filing claims and objections, issuance of notices and disposal, prescribed by the Election Commission of India towards special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026.
The Draft Electoral Roll prepared in connection with the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026, along with the last part of the Electoral Roll relating to Service Voters, is published on December 16, 2025 and handed over to the representatives of recognized political parties.
Period for filing claims and objections is from December 16, 2025 (Tuesday) to January 15, 2026 (Thursday), Notice Phase (Issuance, hearing and verification): decision on Enumeration Forms and disposal of claim and objection to be done concurrently by the EROs is from December 16, 2025 (Tuesday) to February 07, 2026 (Saturday), Checking of health parameters of electoral rolls and obtaining Commission’s permission for final publication by February 10, 2026 (Tuesday), Final Publication of Electoral Roll is on February 14, 2026 (Saturday).
The general public can file their claims and objections in respect of notices issued to electors within the stipulated period before the concerned Electoral Registration Officers (EROs). The District Election Officer has further stated that any political party or elector aggrieved by the decision of the ERO can file an appeal before the District Election Officer under Section 24(a) of the Representation of the People Act, 1950. A second appeal under Section 24(b) against the decision of the First Appellate Authority shall lie before the Chief Electoral Officer, in accordance with Rule 27 of the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960.
