ANNUAL TRAINING CAMP AT PERNEM

The Annual Training Camp (ATC) of 1 Goa Naval Unit NCC is presently being conducted at the Multipurpose Sports Stadium, Pernem, under the command of Capt Sumeet Sinha, Commanding Officer of the unit.

The Annual Training Camp has provided an effective platform for cadets to enhance physical fitness, mental alertness, social awareness, and a strong spirit of unity and camaraderie, in keeping with the ethos of the National Cadet Corps.

Around 500 NCC cadets from 25 educational institutions across the state are participating in the camp. The camp is being conducted with the active support of the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Goa, whose cooperation and logistical assistance have played a key role in the smooth conduct of the training.

The camp administration is being efficiently managed by a team comprising Permanent Instructional (PI) Staff, State Government staff, and Associate NCC Officers (ANOs).

The training programme focuses on developing discipline, leadership, and overall personality, and includes weapon handling, boat pulling practice on simulator, semaphore training, and lectures on various service-related subjects. Expert talks on road safety, drug abuse awareness, cyber crime prevention, and defence recruitment have also been organized.

Various inter-institution competitions such as drill, song and dance, football, tug of war, drawing, and essay writing have been conducted to promote teamwork and healthy competition.
