TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS FOR TRIAL RUN ON OCT. 13

The office of the District Magistrate, North has directed following road closure for the trial run is scheduled to be held on October 13, 2025 between 10.00 a.m to 01.00 p.m. The closure of the left side main carriageway of existing NH- 66 from P55 (O’Coqueiro junction) to P67 (Shivaji Chowk) and closure of right hand side of existing NH- 66 from P16 (Damian –de-Goa) to P8 (Arabi junction, Socorro) for all types of vehicular traffic except emergency services (Ambulances and Fire Brigades) on October 13, 2025 between 10.00 a.m to 01.00 p.m.

Heavy vehicles including luxury passenger buses (except vehicles carrying essential commodities and petrol/ diesel tanker) proceeding to Panaji will be diverted from Karaswada via Bicholim and the route to be followed for heavy vehicles proceeding to Mapusa from Panaji will be via Panaji – Old Goa – Sakhalim- Bicholim- Assonora- Thivim.

Light vehicular traffic proceeding to Panaji will be diverted from Aradi junction Socorro towards Defence Colony via Kadamba Depot and then from B. B. Borkar road to proceed to service lane via Shivaji Chowk.

The stretch of road from Socorro – Sangolda junction to Socorro Church junction will be made one way for the movement of vehicular traffic. The traffic proceeding to Mapusa will be diverted from O’Coqueiro junction via CHOGM road Sangolda – Guirim.

Suitabke and safe access for the local residents and establishments along the closed stretch of NH- 66 will be provided at designated locations. Traffic Marshals will be deputed 24/7 by

the contracting agency as per the requirement and directions of traffic police without fail during the entire closure period.
